Study Notes

Note: "YHVH" (or "YAHWEH") is the actual name written in Proverbs 3:5 (and 6,518 other OT verses.) In these verses English translators intentionally made the traditional error of substituting "THE LORD."
"LORD" is an English translation of another Hebrew word: "ADONAI," whereas YHVH" (or "YAHWEH") is the personal Name of the One True Creator.
YHVH, like any name, should not be translated, but instead merely transliterated (trans-lettered to be readable in the new language).
Therefore we recommend substituting the more Biblically correct "Yahweh" where "The Lord" appears in the above verse.
