So the [citizens] hear the Emperor's order ringing [across the Medo-Persian Empire].
[Thousands of soldiers] gather hundreds of maidens to Shushan Palace.
They [trap the girls] in the custody of Hegai {Meditation}, keeper of the [harem] women.
[The soldiers search out] Esther.
[They drag her from her hiding place.]
They bring her [with the other beautiful virgins] to the royal palace.
[They place her] in Hegai's custody.
