3 And Baruch {Blessed} read the words of this book in the hearing of JechoniYah {YAH-Establishes} the son of Judea's king Joachim, and in the ears of all the people who came to hear the book,
4 And in the hearing of the nobles, the king's sons, the elders, and the people, from the low to the highest, even of all who dwelt at Babylon by the river Sud. | The People Weep, Fast, & Pray In Repentance | 5 βοΈβοΈβοΈ [Hearing the scripture,] the [repentant Hebrews] weep. They fast. they pray before Adonai [YHVH].
6 The [repentant Hebrews] also make a collection of money [to rebuild the temple]. Each [man volunteers] as much as he can.7 And they sent the money to Jerusalem to Joachim the high priest, son of ChelciYah, son of Salom, and to the priests, and to all the people with Joachim at Jerusalem,8 At the same time when Joachim received the utensils of the house of Adonai, that were carried out of the temple, to return them into the land of Judaea, the 10th day of the month Sivan, namely, silver vessels, which Sedecias son of JosiYah {Founded-By-YAH} king of Yada {Knowing} had made,9 (Emperor Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had carried away [Judean king] JechoniYah {YAH-Establishes}, [his] princes, captives, and mighty men, and the people of the [holy] land, from Jerusalem, [600 miles east] to Babylon.) 10 The [repentant Hebrews] say [to the priest], βLook: we've sent you money to buy ascension-roasts, and [food for] guilt-offerings, and incense. So prepare manna [wafers]. [Bake all this food] upon the cooking-altar of Adonai our Elohim.11 And pray for the life of Emperor Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and for the life of his son [prince] Balthasar, that their days may be upon earth as the days of heaven: 12 And Adonai will give us strength, and lighten our eyes, and we will live under the shadow of Emperor Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and under the shadow of Balthasar his son, and we will serve them many days, and find favor in their sight.13 βοΈβοΈβοΈ And pray to [YHVH] Adonai our Elohim for us [Israelites]. For we have sinned against Adonai our Elohim. So to this day. Adonai's furious fire-rage has not turned from us. 14 And you'll read this book which we have sent to you, to make confession in the house of Adonai, upon the feasts and solemn days.15 And you'll say, βRighteousness belongs to Adonai [YHVH,] our Elohim. But today we [people] of Judah, including the inhabitants of Jerusalem, own the confusion of [our] faces.16 Our kings, princes, priests, prophets, and fathers [lie ashamed].17 For we have sinned before Adonai [YHVH]. 18 βοΈβοΈβοΈ We have disobeyed Adonai, and have not listened to the voice of Adonai our Elohim, to walk in the commandments He openly gave us: 19 βοΈβοΈβοΈ Since the day that Adonai brought our forefathers out of the land of Egypt, to this present day, we have been disobedient to Adonai our Elohim, and we have been negligent in not hearing his voice. 20 So the evils clung to us, and the curse, which Adonai appointed by Moses his servant at the time that he brought our fathers out of the land of Egypt, to give us a land that flows with milk and honey, as it is to see today. 21 Still we [Israelis] failed to listen to the voice of Adonai our Elohim. [We ignored] all the words of the prophets whom Adonai [YHVH] sent to us. 22 βοΈβοΈβοΈ But every man followed the imagination of his own wicked heart, to serve strange Elohim, and to do evil in the sight of Adonai our Elohim. | |
