"A highly ambitious, (but ultimately educational-class) take on the all-time great satire writing of Irish Christian cleric Jonathan Swift. Suffers a bit from the innovation of the idea that Dr. Gulliver is a PTSD victim who has highly complicated flashbacks. For being made in 1995, it has good special effects. Good music work as always from Trevor Jones. It's a lot to take in in one sitting, particularly with its unfortunate and complicating lunacy sub-plot. Might have been better split into two self-contained 90 minute movies instead of leaving a cliffhanger at the end of part 1."

"A rich educational film made with love and care. Highly recommended for educational use, and even as entertainment for those who wish to experience great literature in a fun way. A valuable introduction to political satire, open to any age. Some elements may frighten young children, but with proper supervision, they should be fine. Schedule in 3 hours."
