Walking the fine line (Best of Friends)

Author: Troy Joy Comedy Show
Theme:
Walking the Fine Line (The Best Of Friends)
Prov. 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

'Don't think I ever told you just how much I really care
In all the days and years I knew your love was always there
When Have I told you lately how much I really care
For all the days (and weeks) and years (I knew) your love was always there
So many faces come and go (as we grow old)but don't you know that
after all this time we're still walking the fine line (We're still side by side)

Balancing friendship is an art of walking higher wire
Fanning the flames without starting a fire
Timing the silence then speaking truth in love
FInding the kindness at times to be tough
and after all this time we're still walking that fine line

And if your straight and narrow way leads away from me (mine)
I'll be praying for the day When our paths (will) meet (in time)
(and) I'm on your side Walking the fine line

(The) competition and encouragement go hand in hand
As iron sharpens iron so we are man to man
Sincere yet secretive of things too hard to tell
Knowing each other just a little bit too well
but after all this time- we're still walking that fine line

Timing the silence; then speaking your mind
Better left unsaid
We get so close but there's this distance we still share
Between respecting space and showing how we care

You've been the hand of God to me (at work) right here on Earth (in troubled times?)
You've been the fist that nearly served the beating I deserved
(You've been the Hand of God; you've been the fighting fist)
When to break the silence- and when I've said too much
As iron sharpens iron you strengthen me my friend you bring out my best

Between leaving you space and To speaking the truth in love
Some things are best revealed- some better left unsaid

Trying to be the best of both worlds
Timing the silence; then speaking your mind

Balancing act
When to be silent, when to speak, to know what not to do

Trying to live like men of God and yet be who we are

Trying to love the Lord without being fanatical
Trying to love the world without being heretical
Trying to love our wives like (Jesus) Christ loved the Church
Sometimes it's fun - sometimes it's too much work
Yet After all this time we're still walking that fine line

Eccl. 7:18 The man who fears God will avoid all [extremes].

And as you start to leave
The Tears flow down my cheeks to think what God has brought us through
And though the miles and the time through all the tears we cried
I know why God brought me to you
Cause after all this time - we're still walking that fine line
From this union springs an (eternal) thing that death will never end
'til (at) the end of time - we'll be the best of friends

Through happy times and tears I cry I'll be praying faithfully
I know God will keep you safe

I'll be there for you while we're walkin the fine line

Trying to live like men of God and yet be who we are (as real as we can (to be ourselves)
Struggling with things that tie us down - the houses and the cars
Loving our comfort as we try to daily try to die to sin (crucify the flesh)
Helping each other through the messes that sin gets us in (we wind up in)

Cherish the gift of grace -- while trying to do what's right
Humbly accepting grace - Still tryin' to save (our) face
Trying to make sense of the insane pace of change

Trying halfheartedly to daily try to die to sin
Helping each other through the messes that we wind up in

How God is using you - how God is teaching me
Speaking through each of us and killing our complacency
Speaking the truth in Love

(Sometimes) we laughed until we cried
(Sometimes) we nearly came to blows
You gave me confidence to try some things that changed my life

Hating the human-ness that by ourselves we rarely see

Loving ourselves as we try to love ouf fellow man
Avoiding extremes

So many treasures are the moments I will not forget
I choked and cried when I tried thast last cigarette

Friendships like this make living life a possibility (are the stuff that life is made of)
So many treasures are the moments I will not forget
