9 SCRIPTURES on the theme of Contentment

  1. 1st Timothy 6:8 If we have food and covering, we [believers] will be happy with that, 😇.
note: #4629 skepasma means ‘covering’, not just ‘clothing’. You need a little bit more than just food and clothing. You need some basic shelter, an 8' x 8' tent for example; nothing fancy or large. Mere food and clothing won't keep you happy in a freezing blizzard or under Death Valley's summer sunshine.
  2. Philippians 4:11 I'm not asking you for money or anything for my needs. I've learned to be content in any circumstance, 😇.
note: Does your preacher ask you for money for his needs? Paul didn't.
  3. Philippians 4:12 I know how to live ‘dead-broke’ or rich, 😇. YAH taught me the secrets of living in every situation, with a full belly or empty stomach, with plenty or little.
  4. 1st Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, 😇. And it's certain we can carry nothing out.
  5. Ecclesiastes 4:6 Better is one handful with quiet [peace], than both hands full with travail and chaos [in your] spirit, 😇.
  6. Exodus 36:6 So Moses issues a decree. [The priests run] proclaiming it throughout the camp, [shouting], “Ladies and Gentlemen, don't bring any other work-products for the sanctuary offering!” [Instead of begging for money like modern preachers, Moses] restrains the people from bringing any more contributions, 😇!
note: Does your preacher refuse money?
  7. Proverbs 27:7 The satisfied appetite loathes [even] a honeycomb, 😇. But to the hungry animal, every bitter thing [tastes] sweet.
note: Addicts are the world's saddest people. Poor people live happier than rich people. Health nuts who don't eat sweets enjoy garlic and onions. When you deprive yourself of dopamine, your brain's pleasure neuro-receptors open wide, (like the pupil of your eye dilates in the dark). So you experience more pleasure in deprivation than in plenty. Abstinence is the secret to smiling in any circumstance. Be a pleasure-delayer, and you get more pleasure out of life.
  8. Psalms 119:2 Happy people preserve [YAH's] histories. They seek [YAH] with their whole heart.
  9. Ecclesiasticus (Sirach) 26:4 Whether a man is rich or poor, if he has a good heart toward [YHVH] the Adonai, he always rejoices with a cheerful face.
