Remove the WWW (666) from your web site

I do not know that leaving www on your url's makes you d@mned; I am not saying that, however here are some good reasons to remove the www:

* W is another way of writing V;
"W" appeared in the 1300's as two v's in one, but is universally recognized to have the same Hebrew numerical equivalent as V (6).

* Why say "World Wide Web" at the start of your addresses, for no reason?

* Why have a totally unnecessary extra 3 letters in every page url of your site?

* It doesn't change the operation of your site at all.
This is explained at http://no-www.org/

* It's easy!

JUST EMAIL THE FOLLOWING TEXT TO YOUR WEBHOST ADMIN:
-------------------------------------
We would like to remove the "www." from the beginning of all of our
urls...

It involves this mod_rewrite command in a .htaccess file...

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.yourdomain.org$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://yourdomain.org/$1 [R=301,L]
--------------------------------------

WEBHOST SHOULD WRITE BACK SOMETHING LIKE
Yep, i can hack that in for ya. Should be up and working... let me know if you notice any problems with anything... (also, if and when you add a new sub-domain to this account, remind me to do this same hack for it... this has to be done on a per-domain basis).

You may still have a lot of absolute links in your files pointing to 'www.' host names... you may want to now go through your files and change all those by either simply removing the 'www.', or by changing the absolute links into *relative* links.. for example, change this:
href="http://www.yoursite.org/page.php"
to this:
href="/page.php"
(then it'll just use whichever domain name the user typed in)
