Jackie Loses All Her 'Assets' & Deals
LATER:
Mascara streams down Jackie's face. She picks OCD-like at her cuticles.
She watches Peleador score a goal onscreen.
Onscreen, Peleador runs circles on the field, arms triumphant.
Jackie's eyes flash wide. She stops jumping, seeing:
Onscreen, Peleador runs to the sidelines to hug Hank Honey!
Lights from outside the house flash across Jackie's face and her screen.
Jackie runs outside.
She sees a repossessor lift her car onto a towing-jack.
Jackie pounds on the car's hood as it rolls away.
The car rolls away.
It rolls over Jackie's foot.
Jackie collapses in pain, holds her toes.
Bath-robed, Arrogant Attorney extends his hand to Jackie.
He lifts her up.
Jackie smiles.
Jackie stomps back to the front door to see an eviction notice hanging on her door.
She grabs it off the door, stares at the big word: EVICTION.
Underneath that paper lies another notice that reads: GAS CUT OFF.
She slumps down in the doorway.
She sees Nosy Neighbor and Arrogant Attorney high-five across the street, spying on her, laughing at her, joking:
Jackie shivers.
She loads firewood into the fireplace.
She fails, fails, fails, then starts it ablaze.
She sees the phone ringing.
She answers it.
The rock hits Jackie in the head.
Jackie goes down.
